i was born in Vietnam and came to the US at 7 years old. and my father is 63 years old and currently unemployed, so my mom is the only one working. and i am the first in my family of 3 to go to college.
plus...the sat and the multiple choice test are not my thing...i really suck at those. and i though uc's look for diversity and well rounded people.
You have a pretty good chance actually. I've been looking at UCSD and for a California resident/citizen, you only need a 3.0(not sure if its weighted or unweighted)to get in. Not really sure about SAT and ACT test scores though.
