Beginning Tennis: Do right handed players always serve from the same side?
I just started playing tennis (I'm 20 years old), and I've been watching some videos on how to serve with proper technique. I understand that, if you're right handed, your left leg should be in front at about a 45 degree angle. My question is, since your left leg must be in front to serve correctly, does that mean I will always serve into my opponent's left-side service box? (Meaning that I'll always serve from the left of the base-line?)
I realize this may be an elementary question, but I need to know.
No you dont it doesnt matter what hand you are you always start with the first serve in your right hand side of the base line, You should serve the ball into your opponents left service box. You play the point then you serve from the left hand side of the baseline to the opponents righthand side service box you keep changing sides until you one of the players wins that game.
