Anyone see Delta Goodrem perform live at Blacktown Westpoint last Sunday?
...at around 1:00pm On Four. She played 'You Will Only Break My Heart' and 'Believe Again', signed album/singles and had photos taken with fans who waited in line under some of the most extreme weather conditions ever. First it's all hot & sunny then the next thing you know, hailstones almost the size of your average Tennis Ball were falling from the sky along with heavy rain and 90km/h winds. Crazy!
I didnt get to go--I wish that I did, but I live in Melbourne 
I heard that it was a fantastic day though!!

Blige in 1992 was definitely excessive, and those who exalted her as the "new Chaka Khan" did both Khan and Blige an unforgivable disservice (few could live up to such a title). But as the 1990s progressed, Blige really did evolve into one of the decade's most appealing R&B vocalists, and she's in good to excellent form on The Tour, which was recorded on her Share My World Tour of 1997-98. The very fact that a live urban contemporary album came out in the late 1990s was quite surprising; after all, R&B had become so technology-driven and studio-oriented that few R&B artists even bothered to make live albums anymore. But Blige was an exception, and she proves herself capable of taking it to the stage on passionate versions of such hits as "My Life," "Mary Jane (All Night Long)," "Reminisce," and "Mary's Joint." World Tour $19.98 This version of the Zawinul Syndicate could swing harder than any Zawinul-led unit since the heyday of Weather Report, as this two-CD set -- taken from three concerts in Berlin and Trier, Germany -- triumphantly illustrates. Small wonder, for the lineup of the Syndicate looks almost like a Weather Report alumni gathering, with Zawinul, the brilliant percussionist Manolo Badrena from the 1977 Heavy Weather band, and bassist Victor Bailey, from the great '80s global-funk edition forming a quorum, with Paco Sery on drums and Gary Poulson on guitar filling out the ranks. Zawinul remains a marvel at 65, always in touch with the idea and feel of the groove, weaving spare, enigmatic electronic comments and spangled layers of synthesizers into the mix, creating a touching dialogue in "Zansa II" with Sery's kalimba. Some of the material stems from the early years of the Syndicate, and "Indiscretions" and "Two Lines" date all the way back to Weather Report. Among the greatest groovathons -- at last presented in full glorious concert length on CD -- are "Indiscretions," which gets the voodoo going in an insinuating manner, and "N'awlins," which manages to evoke the Crescent City R&B feeling in a swingingly original way. The set's two anomalies are "When There Was Royalty," a curious intermezzo consisting of Zawinul's polystylistic solo piano musings poorly recorded in his home studio on a Walkman, and "Success," a spoken poem by Erich Fried set against the stunning blend of Berlin church bells and electronics. Is this a good solution to the paying rpblem between men and women in tennis?
Ok, since everyone is complaining that women shoud be paid less in Grand slam tennis tournamnets, because they play less sets, why don't tehy just make the men play the same as women in the nimber of sets. So make men's matches a best out of 3 sets just like womens, and don't give me any crap that is to little for men to play, because they pllay like that in regular tournaments.
I think the number of sets that both men and women players have to play in the grand slam is the right number to bring out the best in every player on the field. We can argue equality amongst the sexes till doomsday but we all know that man is the stronger sex than the woman. That means that man can handle more hard work than the woman. Even amongst men, there are variances. Some men can be quick at work but lack the endurance to sustain a prolonged working time. Others might be a little slow but can sustain a longer working period. The five sets for men compensates for these variances. It's brings out the best entertainment value from each player. I think that must have been the thinking behind the choice of a five setter by the grand slam committee.
As per pay according to work amount, that is a judgement call. If the committee decides to pay both sexes the same amount they must have found out that both sexes attract just about the same number of spectators for the same caliber of game. For instance the tennis game between Jalena Jankovic and Venus Williams which was to take place today, Tuesday September 4, was postponed till Wednesday September 5, for rating reasons. US Open wanted to maximize the benefits of it's viewership and as such not play two block buster games the same night. That means that though the ladies play less number of sets they sell as much tickets just as men.
The current system works as it is. Fans will always complain irrespective of what system is in place.
