Become the next Tennis Champion in Virtua Tennis 4 Wii
Grand Slams occur only four times a year in the game of tennis. Unless you're a Tennis fanatic, perhaps these four grand slams are the only tennis tournaments you watch. And in these tournaments every year we either see a new champion crowned or a familiar rivalry match up. Whichever the case is, nothing gets more exciting than watching these tournaments. So what if the viewer gets a chance to play these tournaments…as one of the Tennis heroes like Federer, Nadal, Williams and Ivanovic? Dream come true.
Virtua Tennis 4 for the Wii is a fun game completely devoted to Tennis. It does not make any effort to add any extra level's of interest in the game. It is simply a game where the player can play as his favorite Tennis player and play in Grand Slam tournaments as well as other tournaments. The game has a total of 16 tournaments. Four tournaments are Grand Slams (Australian, French, Wimbledon, though it is called the English Grand Slam in the game, and the US Open). Four tournaments are called the Special courts which feature different types of court however the cities in which they are located are unknown. These courts are: The Tennis Hall (Indoor), SPT Final (Hard), Fancy Dress Matches at World Tour (Indoor), Special Matches at World Tour (Indoor). The remaining eight are called the Advantage Series and the World Tour Venues which consists of Championships and Tournaments based in China, Egypt, Sweden, Canada, Spain, Czech Republic and the United States. The types of courts in these tournaments are a mixture of Hard, Clay, and Grass and Indoor.
The playable Tennis Players include the various current top players in the world right now. Among men, there is Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Andy Roddick and a few other lesser unknown top ranked players. Among women there is Venus Williams, Ana Ivanovic, Caroline Wozniacki, Maria Sharapova, and Svetlana Kuznetsova.
A clear disappointment overall
The game is fun for maybe a few days. It isn't a game that will be remembered by players after a week of playing it. There are several reasons for this. One of the major reasons is the game play. Playing the game even in the most difficult level is like playing in beginner level. It would expected that top ranked players would be harder to beat in the game, however pick the lowest ranked player in the game and pit him against Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal and the score will probably read 6-0,6-0 and 6-0 for the lower ranked player. While the game does ‘claim' that it supports the new Wii Motion Plus, the game itself is not a motion based game. The player can step into the shoes of their favorite players, but unfortunately he won't be jumping or running at all in those shoes. For the majority of the game, players operate on the boring buttons of the Wii Remote (You don't buy Wii games to just press buttons). Also the game lacks players and tournaments. As I mentioned in the introduction that people who watch only the four grand slams would love this game (until even they get bored). For Tennis Fanatics, lack of more players and even players who are top ranked in doubles will definitely make this game a ‘no buy' for Tennis Fanatics.
Perhaps the only part of the game that can be called good is the graphics. Playing this game for the first time, it will be exciting to see almost identical virtual figures of the real players along with the realistic display of the courts. But the strong graphics are a major cause for glitches also. Perhaps, the money to buy this game can be saved to buy a better game.

Who is the most famous table tennis player in the world?
Its actually Timo Boll for the guy above me who spelled it wrong and he is from Germany and one of the greatest and famous. But Ma Lin is the number 1 ranked player in the world and he is from China and plays for them. Plus China has the most people in the world and he is number 1 ranked player in the world. So you can safley say Ma Lin is the most famous player on the planet.

The Increasing Role of Character Animation in Video Games
Animation Mentor graduates share their insights about working in gaming industry
By Heidi Landgraf of Animation Mentor.
For more information about Animation Mentor visit www.animationmentor.com.
Video Games have certainly evolved since the arrival of one of the earliest video games, Pong by Atari, more than 30 years ago. Back in the day, people were content to play this two-dimensional sports game that simulates table tennis. Gamers today, however, are demanding an increasingly more immersive gaming experience, one that the industry is constantly seeking to meet.
"Almost every video game today uses character animation. It's become a standard element in modern entertainment software," says Mark Stuart, who is a video games designer for Bionic Games and is currently working on Spyborgs.
We asked a group Animation Mentor graduates who were trained as character animators, and who now work in the gaming industry, to share their insights about how the role of the character animator has changed in the past few years.
Today, gamers find themselves in fully rendered CG worlds, competing in increasingly complex missions with more believable characters. This is where character animation specifically comes in to play: By creating greater empathy for the character, gamers become more involved in the game. "The uniqueness of gaming compared with other media is that we cannot just relate to the hero, but we actually become the hero," says Olivier Ladeuix, Animation Mentor graduate and former animator at Rare/Microsoft Game Studio.

As technology ‘budgets' (technological parameters, not financial budgets) have increased and technology has become more sophisticated, game developers are using more complicated characters that allow the gamer to more fully connect with the gaming experience.
"Programmers are constantly looking for ways to optimize artwork so that they can fit more into the budget that's allowed. On a yearly basis you are seeing new engines, new ways of exploring animations and exporting more artwork onto a disk more efficiently," says Animation Mentor graduate Bill Buckley, who is an animator at Neversoft where many of the latest Guitar Hero installments were developed. "The result is that you can now have more characters on the screen at once, increased detail in scenery, further travel beyond the world origin, and more sophistication in the character itself."
"There is a common phrase used in developer jargon and it's ‘they wanna feel,'" Buckley says. "They want to feel what the character is thinking, what his emotions are and know what the motivations are behind the actions. The technology makes it possible for greater subtleties within the character's design, and gives animators more room for conveying thought and emotion through the character."

Treat Tennis Elbow And Ace The Pain
Chances are, if you are encountering pain in your elbow, you are most likely suffering from "tennis elbow." Tennis elbow, or elbow tendonitis, is one of the most frequent challenges reported by individuals looking for relief from their elbow pain.
At the root of Tennis elbow, or "lateral epicondylitis" is the same culprit responsible, as is in most cases of tendonitis, and that is worn out tendons. The repetitive strain placed on elbow tendons doing the same strained elbow motion over and over, results in micro tears on the tendons that attach the forearm muscles to the arm bone connecting at the elbow joint. The result from such wear is dreadfully and quite constant pain.
Elbow tendonitis strain is most often experienced around the area where the tendons of the outer elbow bind to the bony point on the exterior part of the elbow. Although elbow tendonitis primarily occurs on the outside of the upper forearm, it can also impact anywhere from the elbow joint to the wrist. The elbow tendonitis tears reveal themselves by the telltale signs of inflammation, swelling, and sensitivity to touch.
Most people are inclined to think that tennis elbow is caused by playing tennis. Playing tennis is just one of the numerous causes of elbow tendonitis, and it actually represents a very minor percentage of those bothered by tendinitis symptoms. Simply stated, the most frequent cause of "tennis elbow" is ANY prolonged, unvarying activity which places a continuous strain on the forearm muscles. For example, painting ceilings or walls. This is a perfect instance of a repetitive motion, performed under strain, at an unnatural angle, with infrequent breaks.
Therefore, people who are manual laborers, like plumbers, gardeners, painters, are at a higher risk of developing tendonitis. People who are at an equally high risk for fostering elbow tendonitis are athletes. Most racquet sport devotees, and golfers are likely to strain and overburden elbow tendons and forearm muscles, whether through occupational activities or the thrill of the competitive game.
Elbow tendinitis has another 'easy mark' risk factor, and that is the natural process of aging. Individuals between 35-65 fall into the most prevalent category of tennis elbow targets. As we age, our tendons lose their stretchiness and their resilience. The elbow tendons naturally and gradually become more brittle, and subsequently, subject to a more shatter-able state. The tendonitis causes that aging elbow tendinitis sufferers fall prey to are ultimately the exact causes that all tendonitis sufferers experience, only with increased vulnerability due to the onset of brittle tendons.
Several other reasons for elbow tendonitis exist, besides persistent strain, for instance an accident where the elbow itself is jarred or shocked. A more common cause for elbow tendinitis are those who are untrained at the specific activity they are participating in. This lack of proficiency increases the inflammation of their strained tendons often through poor judgement. An example of this would be using equipment that is incorrect, like golf clubs that are too heavy, or too long. Often sports such as golf or tennis are expensive, so individuals may make use of equipment that is disproportionate to their physique. Ill fitted racquet's, a sudden increase in how often an individual works or exercises, or lastly, faulty equipment promotes the individual to compensate, creating hazardous movements, thus provoking tendonitis symptoms.
A safegeneral statement is that those who are not somewhat fit, or in good physical condition, will contribute to their chances of developing elbow tendonitis. Sudden acceleration in how often an individual works, or works out is a recipe for strained muscles. The muscles employed for such tasks will be ill prepared for the stress, and often the wrong ones to engage for the action. Repetition of such motion intensifies the negative result. Muscles subjected to impulsive and unusual intensity in exercise or job related activity are in jeopardy of elbow tendinitis symptoms. Take a beginner instruction course when learning a new sport. Improve your technique. Study with a professional. The same applies to manual labor skills. Sharpen your abilities. Learn from a mentor or participate in an apprenticeship.
The most prominent symptom that individuals with elbow tendonitis notice is pain. Diminished strength, tightness, and a general restriction of movement are customary impacts of tennis elbow. Numbness, and a prickly burning can also be experienced. Sufferers report that elbow tendonitis symptoms manifest themselves as sharp pain around the elbow itself, and may be excruciatingly worsened by flexing back the wrist, or clutching items such as racquets, or rakes, etc. People often struggle with elbow tendonitis pain both during and after their strenuous repetitive activity, as well as while trying to sleep at night, or first thing in the morning. Such pain can be prevented with knowledge of elbow tendonitis causes, prevention, and treatment.
One of the most effective treatments for tennis elbow treatment is the long-standing R.I.C.E. strategy, which stands for:
Rest
Ice
Compression
Elevation
Elbow tendonitis significantly responds to this treatment if utilized as soon as thetennis elbow pain occurs. Swift application and dedication to this method can make or break your recovery time, and reduce your chances of re-injury. Simple stretching exercises incorporated into your daily workout can help reduce the impact of tendonitis. This important addition to your overall physical conditioning will have a substantial influence, and can serve to be preventative as well. The warming up and cooling down of your muscles before high risk repetitive activity will dramatically assist in their resistance to injury. Stretching and massage of elbow tendons can improve blood flow to the damaged area, thus promoting the delivery of much needed oxygen and nutrients to the disabled region.
The individual may wish to take over the counter medications that are designed to combat inflammation and pain in the tendonitis affected area as well. These medications should be monitored closely, so that the individual does not participate in activity before they are ready, because their pain is masked. Once the elbow tendonitis is headed in the direction of rehabilitation, the individual should design a future fitness plan that focuses on strengthening his or her muscles, as well as paying careful attention to flexibility. A strong and flexible elbow tendon is not as likely to be injured by strain and repetitive movement. The benefits of such conditioning will be well worth the effort.
