V and S Williams are starting to decline, Roddick is done what does the future look like for American tennis?
The American nr.1 right now is Mardy Fish and that's because there are no serious opponents for him now when Roddick can't win anymore and he's almost 30 years old. Fish is almost 30 years old too so it's not looking good. John Isner and Sam Querry are not favourites to win any tournaments.
There are only 8 Americans in the ATP Top 100 rankings. Even French players outnumber US players with 9. Spain has 14. Now when Wimbledon 2011 men's singles isn't going to be won by American player a new all-time record has been made, it's been 31 Grand Slams since American male player won a Grand Slam. 30 Grand Slams was the old record.
American women are even worse. There are no Americans in the WTA Top 25 and only 8 Americans in the Top 100. Meanwhile there are five Russian players in the Top 25 and 16 Russian players in the Top 100.
