As what passes for the British summer rolls around once again, it's time to start thinking about dusting off your tennis shorts. For many since 1999, this has meant not heading down to the local court to dodge the broken glass and 'dog left-overs': no, it means getting your thumbs on Virtua Tennis, be that in the arcades, on a Dreamcast or on a high-powered next generation console. As the series has done in previous years, Virtua Tennis 2009 offers up a host of real-life tennis stars across some of the most realistic courts to be found away from...well, real courts! The likes of Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer are on offer, while you can play as Maria Sharapova against Venus Williams for a bit of classic court action. There are also a handful of new players taking to the court, including Andy Murray and ladies French Open champion Ana Ivanovic. Adding another layer of authenticity, they can all take part in the Davis Cup thanks to a spot of official license grabbing by SEGA. The series has been tweaked in numerous ways, not least of which is the improvement of the online mode. There's a brand new online ranking system, so you can show the world how you've shaped up over the years of perfecting your slice. Court Games make a return, enabling players to test their skills in single and multiplayer modes, not just in ball breaking matches, but also in a host of mini-games. Watch out for crocodiles, fruit and pirates... So, put on your shorts, because you're in for a hot time in front of your TV, if nowhere else!

Patrik Antonious Got Knocked Down, But He Got Up Again

Poker room reviews report that Full Tilt Poker pro Patrik Antonious started 2010 off poorly.  Though he was a top winner in 2009, Antonious lost his mojo at the commencement of 2010.  In four short months, Antonious had fallen $3.6 million USD.  That's a sizable loss so early in the year, considering his overall Full Tilt Poker winnings for 2009 totaled nearly $9 million USD.

Round about mid-March, something finally clicked together for Antonious and his luck, and game, changed drastically.  In a mere six weeks, Antonious has won back the $3.6 million USD deficit, and come out on top with an approximate additional winnings of $500, 000 USD.  It's like Lady Luck showed up and sat in his lap.

What's the story behind this new legend who can lose and win so very much, so very quickly?  Patrik Antonious is a native of Finland, where he was a tennis player and coach, as well as a professional model before realizing his major skills lie in the realm of card table and online poker.

Patrick Antonious's most famous online poker room upset was in fall 2009 against anonymous high-stakes player Isildur1.  Isildur1 is an anonymous online poker room player from Sweden.  Other than his (or her) recent history in online poker rooms, and the press attention Isildur1 has received from online poker room reviews, nothing much else is really known.  Isildur1 arrived on the online poker room scene at Full Tilt Poker in September 2009 and quickly earned a reputation for taking down many of Full Tilt's biggest players and other sharks.  Patrick Antonious went up against Isildur1 in November of 2009 and beat Isildur1 to win $1,365,946 USD, the biggest take in online poker history.  Antonious later gave an interview to Full Tilt Poker in which he called Isildur1 "dangerous" in that Isildur1 is gutsy and puts opponents in difficult positions wherein they are forced to make tough decisions constantly.

From tennis coach and professional model pretty boy, Patrick Antonious seems to have found his calling in playing card table and online poker room games.  Antonious's amazing 2009 run came to a screeching halt in January 2010, but the legend has turned it around and come out on top.  With Lady Luck by his side, maybe Antonious will take on Isildur1 once again.
